Shortening structure in Kobe
When the Hanshin-Awaji earthquake occurred, many geologists went to disaster zone in Kobe city. There is no geological outcrops only visible small crack and deformation of asphalt.
This is a problem that how to work of geological survey in the city.
At March 15, we found some small thrust and buckling structure south of Kobe city. It seem to actual shortening surface of crust that direction is north to south.
These small thrust trended east to west mainly.We try to follow trace of fault system but that is hard to find smoothly. We could not follow fault trace and in offset place fault was founded.
Between of both faults connected by transform fault.
